The cluster contains 190 galaxies, including NGC 1275 which sits near the centre of this image, and is part of the Pisces-Perseus supercluster which contains over 1000 galaxies.

This image is centred on the Perseus cluster with a field of view of 2.75° × 2.81° (excerpt from the Digitized Sky Survey 2).
