    L2 Lagrange point

    The second Sun-Earth Lagrange point (L2) is situated some 1.5 million km from the Earth on the line defined by the Sun and Earth. At L2, the outward directed force from the rotation around the Sun counterbalances the gravitational attraction by the Earth, Moon and Sun.
