PROBA2

PROBA2 is the second of ESA's PRoject for OnBoard Autonomy satellites. It carries four scientific instruments: two particle detectors to monitor the plasma environment of the spacecraft (DSPL and TPMU) and two complementary instruments (SWAP and LYRA) which monitor solar activity.

Tracking a solar eruption through the Solar System
15 August 2017Ten spacecraft, from ESA's Venus Express to NASA's Voyager-2, felt the effect of a solar eruption as it washed through the Solar System while three other satellites watched, providing a unique perspective on this space weather event.
Two-year extensions confirmed for ESA's science missions
