19 April 2004 09:48Report for week 9 to 16 April 2004
Payload commissioning activities continued in the reporting period. The main activity was the second commissioning slot of the Lander, mainly dedicated to Lander payload operations. All activities were successfully completed, with the exception of a few procedures that will have to be repeated in Lander slot 3 after off-line analysis of the available results.
In the last pass of the reporting period the second commissioning slot of ALICE started. In parallel, the ROSINA COPS environmental pressure sensor was switched on in support of ALICE high voltage operations.
On the subsystem side no special activity was performed, with the exception of minor thermal subsystem heaters configuration to adapt to the decreasing distance to the Sun and in preparation of the upcoming pressurization activities.
All activities were executed according to plan. The table below shows a chronology of the main activities in the reporting period:
At the end of the last New Norcia pass in the reporting period (DOY 107, 02:30) Rosetta was at a distance of 16.5 million km from Earth. The one-way signal travel time was 55.2 sec.
