    Beagle 2 delivery for integration on Mars Express

    The Mars Express prime contractor and the Mars Express ESA Project Manager have agreed the final delivery date for the Beagle 2 Mars lander with the Beagle team.

    The British-led lander will be delivered to the prime contractor (Astrium SAS) in Toulouse,for final integration with the Mars Express spacecraft on 30 January 2003.

    It will then be transported to the launch site in Baikonur to be launched with Mars Express in early summer 2003 for a landing on Mars in December.

    A media event organised by the Open University to allow media to see the final model assembly of Beagle 2 will take place on 19 December 2002 at the Open University, United Kingdom.
