No. 136 - End of Conjunction Phase Operations

Report for Period 15 June to 21 June 2008

The reporting period covered the last days of solar conjunction phase operations (ending on 19 June), the reconfiguration of the solid state mass memory (SSMM) and the resume of science activities. Commanding tests and recording of open loop data continued until the exit from the conjunction phase.

    Date: 24 Jun 2008
No. 135 - Conjunction Phase Operations
Report for Period 8 June to 14 June 2008

The reporting period covered conjunction phase operations. During this phase, groundstation pass operations are reduced: no science activities are carried out, no solid state mass memory (SSMM) dumping takes place.

    Date: 17 Jun 2008
No. 134 - Conjunction Phase Operations

Report for Period 1 June to 7 June 2008

The reporting period covered conjunction phase operations. During this phase, groundstation pass operations are reduced: no science activities are carried out, no solid state mass memory (SSMM) dumping takes place.

    Date: 10 Jun 2008
No. 133 - Start of Conjunction Phase Operations

Report for Period 25 May to 31 May 2008

Operations have been nominal during the reporting period. The conjunction operations started on 30 May.

    Date: 03 Jun 2008
    No. 132 - Routine Operations

Report for Period 18 May to 24 May 2008

Routine operations continued nominally as planned.

    Date: 27 May 2008
No. 131 - Trajectory Control Manoeuvre

Report for Period 11 May to 17 May 2008

Operations have been nominal during the reporting period. Four passes were split into two parts in order to allow ground station support for Phoenix delta DORs. On 16 May, a trajectory control manoeuvre (TCM) was successfully performed. Telecommunication bit rate was decreased in preparation for the upcoming superior conjunction phase.

    Date: 20 May 2008
    No. 130 - Routine Operations
Report for Period 4 May to 10 May 2008

Routine operations continued nominally as planned.

    Date: 13 May 2008
    No. 129 - Routine Operations

Report for Period 27 April to 3 May 2008

Operations have been nominal during the reporting period. During this week the new on-board control procedure (OBCP) to enable/disable the routing of virtual channel zero (VC0, for spacecraft housekeeping telemetry) was routinely used.

    Date: 06 May 2008
    No. 128 - Routine Operations

Report for Period 20 April to 26 April 2008

Routine operations continued nominally as planned.

    Mission Status

Activities relating to the exit from the quadrature period were successfully concluded. VIRTIS operations were resumed on 4 November 2007. Data from the first measurements show the situation on the cryo-cooler motor current to slowly improve again. The scientific data are of the same quality as before.

    Date: 18 Mar 2008
