    The planetary nebula NGC 5979

    Date: 08 Jul 2004

This screenshot shows the ESA/ESO/NASA Photoshop FITS Liberator in action. The plug-in has a number of interactive features that makes it easy for the imaging professional to produce attractive colour images of stars and galaxies. Preset values of the different sliders and menus make the plug-in easily accessible for the layman.

The largest part of the plug-in shows a preview pane. Below the preview a histogram shows the distribution of greyscale intensities.

Read more about the function of the plug-in here: http://www.spacetelescope.org/projects/fits_liberator/userguide.html
