The massive An-124 for a time held the mantle of the world's largest aircraft and is the largest aircraft in the world to achieve full production status.

ESA frequently use such an aircraft to ship spacecraft to Baikonur due to the large lift capacity of over 100 tonnes. The Venus Express spacraft weighed in at just 55 tonnes.
