    LISA Pathfinder Spacecraft Test Phase about to Start

    The first test article of the LISA Pathfinder spacecraft, the Development Model (DM) of the On Board Computer (OBC) has arrived at the prime contractor facilities of Astrium Ltd, Stevenage, UK in the last week of December 2006.

    This model has been manufactured by Astrium GmbH in Ottobrun, Germany and is capable to support all the test activities at Real-Time test bench level. The initial integration with the Onboard Software, the TM/TC Front End Equipment and the Central Checkout System will take place at Stevenage before the DM OBC is delivered to Astrium GmbH in Friedrichshafen for integration into the Drag Free Attitude Control System (DFACS) Test Bench in March 2007.
