    9th ILEWG International Conference on Exploration and Utilisation of the Moon (ICEUM9/ILC2007)

    First Announcement and Call for Abstracts

    22-26 October, 2007, Sorrento, Italy

    The 9th ILEWG International Conference on Exploration and Utilization of the Moon (ICEUM9-ILC2007) will be co-hosted by the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the European Space Agency (ESA) during 22-26 October, 2007. The conference is sponsored by ASI, ESA & the International Lunar Exploration Working Group (ILEWG).

    Late abstracts for invited talks or poster interactive presentations can still be submitted until 15 September 2007.
    The deadline for other abstract submissions has passed.

    The main themes of the conference will be organised in various sessions:

    1.  Inauguration & Keynote speeches
    2.  Results from SMART-1, and latest reports from Chang'E 1 and Selene
    3.  Agencies activities and plans
    4.  Keynote speeches: Science, Technology, Human exploration
    5.  Status of Future Missions: Chandrayaan-1, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter/ LCROSS, future landers and orbiters
    6.  Science and Exploration of the Moon: Results, Open Questions and New Approaches
    7.  Technologies, Infrastructures, Resources for Future Robotic and Human exploration
    8.  Societal, legal, policy, economics
    9.  Next steps for Robotic Landers, Rovers and Outposts
    10.  International Prospects for Utilization and Human exploration
    11.  Reports and recommendations from working groups
    12.  ICEUM9 recommendations and declaration
    13.  Young Lunar Explorers and Outreach/education for Public and Youth

    Please use the abstract template - available from the right hand side navigation under documentation - and submit it before 10 July 2007 through the online webform "Abstract Submission ICEUM9" which is also linked from the right hand side. Please make sure that before uploading your abstract, the incorporated images have been compressed.
