This workshop is intended to provide a forum for discussion of the latest results from studies of X-ray emission from nearby galaxies. The main topics to be covered during the workshop fall in the four categories:

• "Point-like" X-ray sources in nearby galaxies
• Diffuse X-ray emission from nearby galaxies
• Global properties of X-ray emission from nearby galaxies
• Environment and interactions
