    Date: 20 Nov 2007
    Copyright: ESA/NASA

The JWST spacecraft will be launched in a folded position to fit inside the launcher's fairing. After launch and during transfer to the second Lagrange point L2 of the Sun-Earth system, JWST will fully deploy.

This animation shows the deployment sequence that starts off with the solar array and the antenna, followed by the Sunshield and concludes with the telescope.
