ESA Science & Technology - Classification and Discovery in Large Astronomical Surveys

Numerous current or upcoming astronomical surveys produce large amounts of photometric, spectroscopic and/or astrometric data. Object classification, parameter determination, novelty detection and the discovery of structure are important yet challenging tasks. This workshop will bring together scientists from a variety of fields in order to discuss the issues, identify common problems and solutions and to share ideas.
