In the morning on 13 May 2009, the Ariane 5 ECA launcher, with the Herschel and Planck spacecraft under the fairing on top, is rolled out to the Ariane launch pad at the European spaceport in Kourou.

This view shows the launcher on its launch table, arriving at the Ariane launch pad after the 2.6 km journey from the final assembly building (Bâtiment d'Assemblage Final, or BAF) where the two spacecraft were mated with the launcher and the launcher was finalized.
