1st International Announcement of Opportunity for HAYABUSA Sample Investigation09 Feb 2012 JAXA has released the 1st International Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for HAYABUSA Sample Investigations. The AO is open to the global scientific community, so proposals are also welcomed from European investigators.
HAYABUSA is a sample return project of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), which was launched in 2003 and successfully touched down on the asteroid Itokawa in 2005, returning back to Earth samples of the asteroid in 2010.
