    EChO Technology Development Activities

    The major technology areas that are being addressed for EChO by the Advanced Technologies Section are:

    • Cryogenic testing of existing HgCdTe detectors
    • Performance verification and qualification of vibration free Hydrogen sorption Joule-Thomson cryo-cooler
    • Characterisation of actuator behaviour for a cryogenic fine steering tip-tilt mechanism
