    Third Cluster THEMIS workshop

    Event Details:
    From: 01 Oct 2012
    To: 05 Oct 2012
Address: Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics
    Boulder
    Colorado
    Country: United States
More info: Link to event website

The 22nd Cluster workshop will be combined with the THEMIS mission for the third joint workshop, based on the highly sucessful previous meetings in New Hampshire in 2008 and Corfu, Greece in 2010. This year will also incorporate presentations from the ARTEMIS mission. Science from other geospace and space plasma missions are most welcome, as well as ground based and simulations studies.

The workshop will focus on the following areas:

    • Storms, substorms and magnetotail dynamics (including deep magnetotail and lunar interactions)
    • Solar wind, shocks and magnetosheath
    • Aurora, MI-coupling and high latitude magnetosphere
    • Magnetopause and boundary layers
    • Inner magnetosphere dynamics

During the afternoon of Wednesday 3 October the Cluster team will hold its Annual Science Working Team (SWT) meeting during which time an update of instrument and spacecraft operations will be presented. A similar session will be held in parallel by the THEMIS/ARTEMIS team.
