IMPRS summer school 2011: Characterizing exoplanets - from formation to atmospheres |
|
The topic of the 6th Heidelberg Summer School, organized by the International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy and Cosmic Physics at the University of Heidelberg (IMPRS-HD), is "characterizing exoplanets - from formation to atmospheres".
The goals of the IMPRS Summer Schools are to:
The focus of this school is to link current observations from, and theory of, the formation and detection of planets, to explore their atmosphere and characterizing habitable environments. The newest results in extra solar planet search will be highlighted in a cross-disciplinary environment. The school will further discuss different formation scenarios and observables, recently discovered Super-Earths, and potential habitability of rocky planets.
