The space shuttle Atlantis carrying 7 crew successfully lifted off at 20:01 CEST (14:01 EDT) on 11 May 2009, beginning the STS-125 mission to service NASA's Hubble Space Telescope (HST).

This photo shows astronauts John Grunsfeld and Drew Feustel during the first EVA of the mission which lasted a little over 7 1/2 hours. During this EVA they successfully installed the new Wide Field Camera 3 science instrument and a new Science Instrument Command and Data Handling Unit.
