It is intended to propose such a mission to the Council at Ministerial Level in 2008 with the aim to adopt it for launch in the period 2015-2018.

The technological goal of the mission is to demonstrate key enabling capabilities as needed for a future Mars Sample Return Mission which may be realized in international co-operation after 2020.

The proposals will be subjected to the selection procedure detailed in the Call itself. Full details for the submission process are available in the documentation on the right-hand side, together with the announcement letter.
