ELSA is a Marie Curie Research Training Network supported by the European Community's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The overall objectives of ELSA are to develop the theoretical understanding and practical analysis tools of importance for ESA's astrometric mission Gaia and to foster the development of a new generation of researchers in the area of space astrometry. In total, 15 PhD and post-doctorate students have been funded between 2006 and 2010, some of whom are pictured here with the scientific coordinator of ELSA, Lennart Lindegren.
