This image was taken during the partial eclipse phase of the 3 March 2007 total lunar eclipse, about 10 minutes after the end of totality.  North on the Moon is some 12° counter-clockwise in this view.  The lunar maria and features can be discerned in the part that is still within the Earth's Umbra. The small bright dot right at the center of the umbral shadow border is crater Aristarchus, located at 47.4° West and 23.7° North.
