Star Formation, Then and Now
Start date: 14 Aug 2007
Address: Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of California, Santa Barbara, California, United States
The process of star formation is central to astrophysics as stars are important energy sources for the interstellar medium, they drive the evolution and chemical enrichment of galaxies, and they are at least partly responsible for reionizing the universe. This conference focuses on five areas:
- Primordial Star Formation
- Turbulence and Magnetic Fields in Star Formation
- Origin of Massive Stars
- Origin of Clusters
- Redshift Evolution of Galaxy-Scale Star Formation Processes
