The conference is organized in honour of Prof. Marcello Fulchignoni (University Paris Diderot-Paris 7), who has devoted all of his scientific career to the study and understanding of processes that led to the formation of the Solar System. Prof. Fulchignoni taught from 1970 to 1993 at the University of Rome 'La Sapienza', before moving to Paris.
