PR 03-1994: Hubble Space Telescope can see clearly now
13 January 1994
Just five weeks after the dramatic Hubble servicing mission, the first images from ESA's Faint Object Camera and NASA's Wide Field and Planetary Camera II have become available. The operation to correct the telescope optics was a total success, and the differences are striking. Also, the new solar panels supplied by ESA are performing very well. The attached copies of pictures are just a low fidelity sample of the astonishing results obtained. Glossy pictures are available on request as of today.
Media representatives wishing to receive them should apply, preferably by fax, to: ESA Public Relations, Paris
