This image shows the entire Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), with some of the brightest objects marked. The field of view is about ten degrees across. The image overlain at top left shows that part of the LMC as covered in this view from the Digitized Sky Survey 2, within which the small white outline corresponds to this Hubble image of the active star formation region N11.
