This flight model vacuum tank provides the required vacuum and thermal conditions for the LISA Technology Package reference laser unit (RLU) and the laser modulator unit (LMU); these are mounted inside, on the top of the tank. The location of the optical bench interferometer during the optical metrology subsystem test campaign is indicated in the photograph.
