Planck Science Ground Segment

The Planck science ground segment (PSGS) consists of the HFI and LFI Data Processing Centres (DPCs) and Instrument Operations Teams (IOTs), and the Planck Science Office (PSO).

The PSGS was responsible for enabling the scientific survey operations by defining the sky-scanning strategy for the satellite, by operating the scientific instruments via the Mission Operations Centre, and by monitoring the behaviour of the instruments.

The PSGS is also responsible for processing the scientific data, and for the generation and delivery of final data and products to the scientific community.
