Report for period 11 November 2005 to 17 November 2005During the reporting period all the activities foreseen for the Near Earth Commissioning of theplatform have been conducted according to plan. The remaining testing activities on theplatform side will take place in January (thermal characterization) and in February (mainengine calibration).

The spacecraft behaviour has been nominal throughout the reporting period.

AOCS Configuration for NECP

At the end of the last Cebreros pass in the reporting period (DOY 321, 21:00) Venus Express was at 2.25 million km from Earth, 147 million km from the Sun, and 81.5 million km from Venus. The one-way signal travel time was 7.5 seconds.

Upcoming Activities

  • Payload Commissioning will start for MAG, VIRTIS, and VMC
  • During this period the Earth-Moon observation is planned
