Euclid payload module during integration, showing the baseplate and the instruments from above. The visual imager (VIS) detector array with its 36 CCDs is clearly visible (below), which will be one of the biggest cameras in space. This is a rare exposure of the focal plane without cover protection. The near-infrared spectrometer and photometer (NISP) is on the left, nearly completely covered in sheets of multi-layer insulation.
