A proton aurora image from the Far Ultraviolet SI12 instrument onboard the IMAGE spacecraft recorded at around 09:40 UT on 4 September 2005. The white fan-shaped line denotes a detached subauroral proton arc while the black rectangle marks the footprint of one of the Cluster satellites.
