In the morning on 13 May 2009, the Ariane 5 ECA launcher, with the Herschel and Planck spacecraft under the fairing on top, is rolled out to the launch pad.
This view shows the launcher on the launch table, ready to leave the final assembly building (Bâtiment d'Assemblage Final, or BAF) to travel the
2.6 km to the Ariane launch site at the European spaceport in Kourou.
