Launch transmission details

The ESA TV Service will cover the Cluster launch extensively with live televised launch transmission:

Tuesday, 8 August: 14:00-14:30 GMT/16:00-16.30 CEST testing all three carriers immediately following VCSC test.

Wednesday, 9 August: Live program 10:30-13:30 GMT (lift-off at 11:13 GMT) from the Royal Society in London with launch transmission from Baikonur.

Schedule and transmission details

For the programme on 9 August, the ESA TV Service provides a digital and two analogue satellite transmission paths. For all paths, a test transmission is scheduled in the afternoon of 8 August.

These transponders do not transmit continuous carriers. Recommended antenna sizes are:

Telecom 2C - 1.5 metres for B, F, most of D, north I, NL, CH and southern GB. 1.8 metres for A, DK, north-east D, IRL, central I and northern GB.

Eutelsat 2F4 analogue - 1 metre for A, CH, D, DK, NL and southern S. 1.2 metres for B, F, GB, N, northern I, and SF. 1.5 metres for E, southern I and IRL.
