The petals to form the Herschel primary mirror are ready for brazing by Boostec facilities, France. This photo shows five of the in total twelve petals that will be brazed together to form the 3.5-metre diameter primary mirror. In the background, on the left, stands the sintering oven that has been used for the manufacturing of the individual petals.
