Date: 19 September 2007 Satellite: Herschel Depicts: Photoconductor arrays for both spectrometer channels Copyright: MPE, Garching, Germany Show in archive: true
Stressed and unstressed Ge:Ga photoconductor arrays for the long- and short-wave spectrometer channels of PACS (57-210 µm) before integration into their housings. The light cones (orange openings) in front of each detector pixel act as field optics to collect the light in the focal plane and couple it into the individual detector elements.
