From 15-18 October 2013, the international symposium The Universe explored by Herschel was held at the European Space Research and Technology Centre, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. This symposium was dedicated to presenting, discussing, and taking stock of the scientific breakthroughs from the Herschel Space Observatory up to that time, and to look towards the future.
