Truckloads of liquid nitrogen are delivered daily to the Large Space Simulator

Large amounts of liquid nitrogen are required to cool the Large Space Simulator (LSS) in order to simulate the cold conditions of space.
Every morning and evening, a truck delivers about 30 000 litres of liquid nitrogen - required to keep a constant cold temperature of about -170: C. During the transfer from the truck to the facility storage tanks, all the transfer lines cool down, creating a dense mist.
