MIRI alignment testing

The Mid-InfraRed Instrument (MIRI) is a pioneering instrument for the James Webb Space Telescope. Here it is being tested to make sure its components are aligned. The testing took place at the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council's RAL Space in Oxfordshire, and subjected MIRI to the harsh conditions it will experience after it is launched into space on board the Webb telescope.
