The Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) was integrated into the Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM) – a composite structure that supports all four of the JWST science instruments – in April 2013.

Pictured here are some of those from the MIRI European Consortium (EC) and ESA who were involved in the integration process: (from left to right) David Wright (NASA, MIRI instrument system engineer), Alan Pearce (MIRI EC, senior AIT engineer), Paul Eccleston (MIRI EC, AIV lead engineer), Maurice te Plate (ESA system integration and test manager) and  Piyal Samara-Ratna (MIRI EC, mechanical engineer).
