ESA Science & Technology - Installing NIRSpec electronics in the ISIM electronics compartment

Technicians at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center install the NIRSpec electronics boxes inside the ISIM Electronics Compartment (IEC). The technician at the right holds the NIRSpec Micro Shutter Control Electronics (MCE) box - used to control the Micro Shutter Assembly (MSA). The IEC is being brought into its final flight configuration by adding the three electronics boxes of NIRSpec (Focal Plane Electronics, Micro Shutter Control Electronics and the Instrument Control Electronics) and those of the NIRCam instrument. The MIRI and FGS/NIRISS electronics had already been added and tested before the first ISIM-level cryo-test.
