Animation of the Planck spacecraft during an attitude control manoeuvre. The spacecraft's Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) is being built collectively by the Spanish company SENER and Dutch company Dutch Space.

The subsystem is crucial to the Planck mission and shall maintain the anti-Sun vector (yellow) always orientated near the spacecraft's turning axis direction (green), with a maximum deviation of +/- 10 degrees.
