The Radio Frequency Qualification Model (RFQM) of the Planck telescope is currently at Thales in Cannes. This morning, the first change of the shim behind the RF test horn was performed.

With the Planck RFQM telescope inside the Compact Antenna Test Range, the tricky operation of changing the shim was completed successfully by the Thales team. To access the RF test horn on the focal plane box of the Planck RFQM telescope, an elevated platform was required as the telescope is situated on a nearly 4-metre high construction inside the test range.
