Fine Balancing Dry Run in LSS - 3D

Date: 03 April 2008
Copyright: ESA/Thales

On 3 April 2008 a test run was done for the fine balancing of the Planck spacecraft inside the Large Space Simulator (LSS) at ESTEC, with the spacecraft spinning up to 30 rpm at ambient conditions (dry run).

This 3D video shows the spacecraft during the dry run and can be watched with 3D red/green or red/blue glasses.

After the successful dry run, the LSS was closed and the fine balancing of the spacecraft was performed in light-vacuum conditions.
