Date: 17 February 2009 Satellite: Planck Depicts: Spacecraft container inside Antonov cargo plane Location: Liège airport, Belgium Copyright: ESA/Thales Show in archive: true
At the Liège airport the custom container carrying the Planck spacecraft is in place inside the large Antonov cargo plane, seen here with its nose still open (around 2 A.M.). Later Planck was flown to Rochambeau airport, French Guiana, with one intermediate stop in Cape Verde for additional re-fuelling of the airplane.
