Opening the transport container, on 14 October 2011, to reveal the Structural and Thermal Model (STM) of the BepiColombo Mercury Transfer Module (MTM) after its journey to ESA's European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. After arriving at ESTEC, the transport container was cleaned in the loading bay and then moved into one of the cleanrooms. It was allowed to reach thermal equilibrium with the interior environment before being opened.
