BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter with special guests
The proto-flight model of the BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) in a cleanroom in the test centre at ESA's European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, the Netherlands.
The BepiColombo mission consists of two orbiters: the Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO), developed by ESA, and the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO), developed by JAXA.
On the left of this photograph is Professor Masaki Fujimoto from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). He is the Project Scientist for the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO). On the right is Johannes Benkhoff, the ESA BepiColombo Project Scientist.
