The BepiColombo stack seen on its vertical integration stand in ESA's test centre, in May 2017.

From bottom to top: the Mercury Transfer Module (MTM), sitting on top of a cone-shaped adapter, its two solar arrays folded on either side with protective covers; the Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO), with the folded solar array in the front protected by a red cover and the steerable one-metre-diameter dish of the high-gain antenna to the right; and the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO), with two black protective panels. All protected covers are removed before flight.
