An example of THEMIS all-sky camera mosaic (presented by S. Mende et al.). The extended network of 20 ground-based observatories (GBO) of the THEMIS project allows for a large-scale assessment of the ionospheric signatures of substorms. Each station is equipped with an all-sky camera and a ground magnetometer.
