The cryogenic portion of Euclid's Near Infrared Spectrometer and Photometer (NISP) instrument (excluding the warm electronics units). The gold coated hardware shows the 16 Read Out Electronics (SCEs), integrated with the H2RG infrared sensors, which are enclosed inside the black multi-layer insulation.
The image was taken at the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille (LAM) in May 2019.
