Detection of Galactic 60Fe gamma-ray line emission
Date: 25 June 2007 Satellite: INTEGRAL Depicts: Gamma-ray line emission from Galactic 60Fe Copyright: INTEGRAL/SPI team Show in archive: true
Composite spectrum of two 60Fe emission lines from beta-decay at 1173 keV and 1333 keV.
Due to the weakness of the gamma-ray line emission from Galactic 60Fe, details of the line profile are not resolved and the profile of the two emission lines is fitted with a Gaussian.
The plot shows the superposition of both lines, with the relative offset from the centre of the fitted Gaussian along the x-axis and the measured mean intensity along the y-axis.
